Dave Hood brings a deep-rooted commitment to integrity, hard work, and community service to his role at Hood Financial Group. A lifelong resident of Owosso, Michigan, Dave’s values were shaped early on through summers spent baling hay, tending a family garden, and working at Hood’s Soda Pop Shoppe – his family’s local business. These formative experiences instilled in him a strong work ethic and a deep respect for people, principles that continue to guide his professional and personal life.
Since entering the financial services industry in 2004, Dave has built a reputation for thoughtful, client-centered investment planning. He believes that financial strategies should be as unique as the individuals they serve. Dave’s approach is rooted in listening, truly understanding each client’s goals, values, and life circumstances to craft personalized plans that support both short-term needs and long-term aspirations.
Dave is proud to lead a team that shares his commitment to align financial guidance with life’s most meaningful moments. His leadership at Hood Financial Group reflects a culture of trust, transparency, and long-term relationships.
Beyond his professional achievements, Dave is a passionate advocate for his community. He actively serves with Rotary International and is a member of the Shiawassee Regional Chamber of Commerce. He has held leadership roles with the Shiawassee United Way, Boy Scouts of America, and Friends of the Shiawassee River. He and his family are active members of the First Church of Christ in Owosso.
In his personal time, Dave enjoys golf, trap shooting, and above all, spending quality time with his wife, Lisa, and their four children and grandchildren. Looking ahead, he envisions a retirement filled with family, faith, and the joy of watching his children and grandchildren thrive.
David’s journey in financial services is grounded in the values of responsibility and hard work, principles he embraced early when he began delivering newspapers at age 12. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Business Administration from Northwood University and spent two years in Traverse City before his ties to family and community brought him back to Owosso.
David began his investment industry career in 2019 and joined Stifel in 2020. After obtaining his securities licenses, he earned the Accredited Asset Management Specialist™ designation. David is passionate about building strong, personal relationships with his clients, taking the time to understand their unique financial goals and helping them feel confident in their wealth management strategies. He believes that education is key to empowerment and works closely with clients to ensure they understand how their investments support their broader wealth management plans.
Beyond his professional work, David is involved in the Owosso community. He serves as a board member of the Shiawassee Goodfellows, is an active member of the Shiawassee-Owosso Kiwanis Club, and volunteers as a firefighter with the Owosso Township Fire Department. These roles reflect his commitment to service and his desire to give back to the community that shaped him.
David and his wife, Lindsey, are proud parents of two young children. Outside the office, he enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, and fishing the Shiawassee River.
